4- Day Self Drive Tour to Denali National Park
Highlight of the self guided driving tour is the two day stay at Denali National Park. Observe the diversity of Denali's wildlife - grizzly bears, caribous, wolves, moose and over 400 bird spezies. Join the Denali Shuttle Bus Tour to Eielson Center / Wonder Lake or the guided Tundra Wildlife Tour.

Day 1: Anchorage (Arrival Day)

Arrive in Anchorage during the day. Transfer to your hotel in downtown. Spend the remaining afternoon to visit the sights of the Alaskan city or enjoy a stroll along the Coastal Trail with views of Mt. Denali and the "Sleeping Lady". Guided city sightseeing tours are arranged on request. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage to Denali National Park

Leave Anchorage and drive north on the Park Highway towards the Matanuska Valley. Stopover at Talkeetna whose wilderness location at the base of Mt. Denali and at the confluence of three wild rivers makes a center for outdoor enthusiasts, climbers, and tourists. The mountains, rivers, glaciers, and meadows in the area provide superb sightseeing, especially by air. Please ask for flightseeing trips to Mt. Denali. Continue to Denali Village.

Day 3: Denali National Park - Wildlife Tour

Today experience the wildlife and wonderful sceneries of Denali National Park. In the morning drive to the Visitor Center where your wildlife tour begins. Pick up your pre-reserved tickets and explore the center if time allows. Board the bus, sit back, enjoy the scenery and look out for wildlife. Your driver informs you about the history of Denali National Park, its diverse wildlife and flora. Once a bear, caribou or another animal has been spotted the bus will stop that everyone can watch and take pictures. Your tour runs all the way to Eielson Visitor Center, a four hour drive or to Wonder Lake - on special request. You can get off the bus anytime you wish and take a stroll, go hiking and enjoy the landscape. By hand signal the next available bus will stop for you to get on.

Day 4: Denali National Park - Anchorage

In the morning you have time to take a short hike, watch a sled dog demonstration presented by the park rangers, enjoy a helicopter flightseeing tour or visit the shops of Denali Village for a last souvenir. Return to Anchorage anytime during the day and return your rental car.

SDR 02 Kenai Fjords Self Drive

3-Day Self Drive Tour Seward | Kenai Fjords National Park
Travel on the states most scenic "Seward Highway", along Turnagain Arm and the Chugach Mountains. In Seward attend a full day glacier & whale watching cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park and witness the calving of a tidewater glacier.

Day 1: Anchorage - Seward

Pick up your rental car and drive south on the Seward Highway. One of Alaska's most scenic highway twists and turns along the base of the Chugach Mountains and the shore of Turnagain Arm. The landscape varies from the muddy waters of Turnagain Arm to the icy blue glaciers that hang almost to the sea. Stopover at Portage Glacier Visitor Center or in Girdwood and take the gondola to the top of Mount Alyeska. Arrive in Seward and check in your hotel.

Day 2: Seward | Kenai Fjords Whales & Glacier Cruise

Board the ship at 11:30 am for a thrilling full-day cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park and Chiswell Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Covering 110-miles, the trip is narrated by a National Park Ranger, who is highly adept at spotting wildlife, pointing out the many spectacular sights, and fielding any questions you may have. Wildlife is abundant throughout the National Park, and the tidewater glaciers are massive. You'll visit the mighty Aialik Glacier where guests often witness calving - a process by which glaciers shed giant blocks and slabs of ancient ice - from a close distance. This cruise also offers the best chance to spot whales in Alaska.

Day 3: Seward - Anchorage

Spend the morning to explore small art shops of Seward or visit the Alaska SeaLife Center. You also have the opportunity to fly by helicopter to the Seward Icefield and go dog sledding on the glacier. The Sewey Family runs the Iditarod every winter and offers the amazing sled dog tours in summer. Return to Anchorage any time during the day and return your rental car.
