Alaska Rail Tours: Seward - Anchorage 2 Days
(AS2) Alaska Rail Tours: Seward - Anchorage 2 Days

Day 1: SewardEstablished in 1980 - Kenai Fjords National Park covers an area of 1760 square miles. Covering 120-miles, the day cruise is narrated by a National Park Ranger, who is highly adept at spotting wildlife, pointing out the many spectacular sights, and fielding any questions you may have. This trip travels through Resurrection Bay, along Caines Head, Bear Glacier and the Harding Icefield. You’ll travel through a small section of the Gulf of Alaska as you round Cape Aialik and enter Aialik Bay. Within Aialik Bay, we will visit one of the massive tidewater glaciers for a short while, hopefully watching ice break off into the water (calving). After viewing the glacier, you will have the chance of seeing seabirds and marine mammals around the Chiswell Islands or Cape Resurrection. Among the many species of birds and wildlife at Kenai Fjords are moose, bear, mountain goats, humpback whales, fin and orca whales, dall porpoises, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, seabirds, puffins, murres, cormorants, and black-legged kittwakes. Salmon Lunch Buffet Included ! Cruise Departure Seward: 11:45 h. / Arrival Seward: 19:15 h. Overnight: The Best Western Edgewater Hotel (or similar)

Witness a 2000+ pound Steller sea lion gliding past underwater viewing windows, puffins diving in a carefully crafted naturalistic habitat, and harbor seals resting on rocky beaches. Alaskan king crab, sea stars, and the Giant Pacific octopus also await you, as well as a whole variety of intertidal creatures and deep sea fishes.
